Beta Program
Learn how to participate in early testing for Expiry Traker and Expiry Traker for Teams, understand the risks of the program, and learn how to install or leave the beta program.
What is the Beta Program?
The Beta Program allows interested users to test new features, improvements, and fixes before they are officially released to the general public on the app stores.
By joining the beta, you help us identify bugs and improve the application with your feedback.
Risks and Important Considerations
Before joining the beta program, please be aware that test builds contain recent changes that have not yet been fully certified:
- Instability and Bugs: The app may experience unexpected crashes, slowdowns, or incorrect behavior on certain screens.
- Work-in-Progress Features: Some features may change in appearance or functionality between beta updates, or even be removed.
- Risk for Free Users (No Backup/Export): If you use the free version of the individual app, data is saved only locally on your phone. Free users do not have access to backup or data export features (available exclusively in the PRO plan). Therefore, if a serious bug occurs in the beta version or if you need to uninstall the app to return to the stable version, there is no way to back up, export, or recover your data, resulting in permanent data loss.

How to Leave the Beta Program
If you no longer wish to use pre-release test builds, you can leave the program at any time through the official app stores:
On Android (Google Play Store)
- Open the Google Play Store and search for the application.
- On the app page, scroll down to the "You're a beta tester" section.
- Tap Leave and wait for store confirmation.
On iOS (Apple TestFlight)
- Open the TestFlight app on your iPhone or iPad.
- Select the app from the list of test apps.
- Scroll to the bottom of the page and tap Stop Testing.
When leaving the beta program, the app installed on your device does not automatically revert to the stable version immediately.
App stores do not perform downgrades (installing an older version over a version with a higher build number). Therefore:
- Wait for the next public update: You will remain on the installed beta version until a new stable version is published on the store with a version number higher than yours. From that point on, the store will update your app to the stable version automatically.
- Manual Reinstallation (Optional): If you wish to switch back to the stable version immediately, you must uninstall the beta app and download it again from the App Store or Google Play Store.
⚠️ WARNING: Free users of the Expiry Traker (Individual) app do not have access to backup or data export features. If you uninstall the app to return to the stable version, all your local data will be permanently deleted. In Expiry Traker for Teams (and for PRO subscribers of the individual app), because data is stored in the cloud, your data will remain safe when reinstalling.
